When deciding whether to get a teaching certification, Vered substituted full-time for the schools. Most of her time was spent at Pickens County Middle School so duties went beyond normal substitute responsibilities.
Duties include:
- Educating in the classroom
- Teachers were familiar with Vered's teaching abilities
so they left lesson plans to actually teach their class
rather than 'baby sit'.
- Students knew that she could explain things differently
than their teachers so much of her classroom time
was spent tutoring them.
- High Ropes Course
- The school system sent Vered to Project Adventure to get her high ropes certification.
- She set-up the equipment on the challenge course , belayed the climbers, and led many of the activities.
